Indoor bowls title to Waikato
The New Zealand mixed fours indoor bowls final was won on a count-back of ends won by the Waikato team of M. Sullivan, Miss J. Graat, Z. Pene. and Mrs P. Miers. representing the northern North Island. Runners-up were N. Wames, H. Wames, Mrs C. Wames, and Mrs S. Richards, of Nelson, representing the northern South Island. Game scores were even at 10 points each. Sullivan gained his win by scoring on 45 ends against Warnes’ 39 ends. The Canterbury' team of L. McLennan, Mrs M. Watson, Mrs V. McLeod, and B. McLeod was
third with nine points and 43 ends won. Nine teams representing all New Zealand districts had won the opportunity, in elimination events, to take part in a searching week-end round-robin contest. Results: M. Sullivan (Northern N. 1.). game points 10, ends 45, points 81; N. Warnes (N. 5.1. 10, 39, 71; L. McLennan (E. 5.1. 9, 43, 83; W. Sinclair (5.5.1.), 8. 39, 75; W.
