C.B.H.S. convincing
Christchurch Boys’ High School kept its hopes of sharing the Secondary Schools rugby competition when it beat St Andrew’s College in convincing fashion, 22-3. C.B.H.S. never looked in danger of losing its grip on the game, scoring four tries to none. Christ’s College continued in its winning vein, upsetting the talented Shirley Boys’ High School side, 13-8. Although the game had
few delights for the spectators. Christ’s College worked hard for its win. In the backs, especially, College showed more flair on attack and greater resolution on defence that its opponents. C.B.H.S. 22 (G. Whisker, 2, J. Leggat, T. Sprott tries; D. McKinnel 3 conversions) beat St Andrews 3 (R. Hawke a penalty goal.) Christ’s College 13 (E. Manuera a try; H Murchison, 2 and W. Lawrence penalty goals) beat 'Shirley 8
