Shantytown gold theft

Gold worth $llOO was stolen from a display cabinet at Shantytown, near Greymouth on Sunday. The Greymouth police said that between 10.45 a.m. and 11 a.m. a half-ounce gold nugget, valued at $4OO, three-quarters of an ounce of granulated gold worth $5OO, a gold sovereign valued at $lOO and a $lOO rolled gold sovereign ’.- case were taken.
Police inquiries are continuing.
