Auckland solicitor remanded
PA Auckland A case against an Auckland solicitor charged with uttering was adjourned in the District Court at Auckland yesterday. . John Malcolm Murfitt, aged 37,, of Takapuna, appeared before Judge G. C. P. A. Wallace.
Murfitt earlier had elected trial by jury after being charged with acting upon a mortgage between Bryan Keith Smith and Rachel Smith as mortgagors, and John Murfitt Nominees, Ltd, as mortgagees, although knowing it to be forged. The Judge adjourned the case until August 20 for the hearing of depositions. Bail was continued.
