Escapers still free

The Christchurch police are still looking for two prison escapers, one of whom has been at large more than two weeks. '

In spite of extensive police inquiries, no trace has been found of Colin Newlands, also known as “Radar,” ‘ who used a ladder to dumb "to freedom from Addington Prison on the morning of July 10. Newlands, aged 33, an Australian, was to have been deported on Sunday. ’ He is about 166 cm (sft

15in) tall, of. thin build, with brown hair and blue eyes. He had been serving time for false pretence and the unlawful taking of vehicles. The other escaper is Bruce Maxwell Taylor, aged 29, who was found to be missing from Paparua Prison on Wednesday morning. Taylor, is a European, 170 cm sft 7in) tall, of medium build, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Neither man is regarded as dangerous by the police.
