Murray Davie back
The Canterbury rugby XV to play North Canterbury at Rangiora this afternoon is marked by the return to semi-representative play of Murray Davie at loose-head prop. Davie, who played three times, for Canterbury A last season, has been off the rugby scene for many weeks because of a leg injury. However, he has proved his fitness by playing twice for his club, Albion, in the recent competition matches.
The Canterbury team is:— Brian Hunter, Don Humphries, Steve Hansen, Brett Oetgen; Simon Brown, Wayne Burleigh; Phil Thomas; John Te Amo; Adrian Muir, Murray Straight, Kerry. Mitchell, Lyn Chandler; Davie, Ces Patrick, Mark Harding. Reserves.— Backs: Stewart Griffiths, Bill Anderson, John Neilson, Paul Karena. Forwards: Tony Burrows, Kerry Flood, Roger Smith.
