Alpine shrubs plan for Craigieburn
When the Craigieburn Valley Ski Club completes its ambitious building programme there won’t be many better set-ups around.
Members are already making extensive use of the new two-and-ahalf storey amenities building (worth $100,000) and drawings have been prepared for sleeping modules which represent a “whole new concept of accommodation,” according to a club spokesman. Initially, three six-bunk units are planned for stage one, and the club already has all the Oregon timber necessary. When the complete building programme is finished the modules will have little walkways between them and alpine shrubs will be planted.
The amenities building made of- - concrete an< Oregon timber, is capablf of being used for a grea. variety of purposes wit! rooms set aside for firs! aid, drying, boot storage and ski waxing, and showers.
Upstairs there is a permanent kitchen for the cooking of evening meals and seating is available for 80 persons. There is also a day kitchen for the preparing of your lunches.
Above the kitchen is a little “snqg” with such comforts as cushions and music.
Two schemes have been devised to finance the first sleeping modules and by paying certain sums skiers will gain preferential or exclusive rights to a unit.
