Bill Noonan says no

Bill Noonan, in his eleventh and last season as a front-row forward in the rugged world of Sydney rugby league, has no intention of seeking a return to international football later this year. r . The durable and still very effective veteran of more than 200 first grade appearances has reiterated his long-held opinion that New Zealanders playing in Australia should not be considered for Kiwi selection.

According to an Australian source, Noonan will not be tempted by the prospect of making himself available for New Zealand’s tour to Britain and France. He said that he still believes the inclusion of expatriot Kiwis is unfair to those who remain in New Zealand. Noonan, aged 33, and two recent test forwards, Dane and Kurt Sorensen, and their Sydney clubs have been contacted to ascertain their availabiity for the British and French tour.
