United to meet Gisborne
Trans Tours United will play Gisborne City, at English Park on August 3 in the quarter-finals of the Adidas Chatham Gup. The draw was made in Wellington yesterday. United’s manager, Mr Brian Hardman, was pleased with the outcome.
“It is a good draw for us, because Gisborne is the team of the moment,” he said. “We respond better
when we play a good side, especially at home.” The semi-finals will be played on August 23-24 and the final has been set down for September 13 or 14 in Wellington. The draw, with the home team named first, is: Blockhouse Bay v. Takapuna City, Stop Out v. Mount Wellington, United v. Gisborne City and Dunedin City v. Wellington Diamond United.
