Sir. — I would point out to W. W. Jeffreys (July 11) that the law does not require pedestrians to be fitted with lights either. Does he suggest that they too should stay off the streets between dusk and dawn? In my. opinion if anyone should stay off the streets it is the drivers of motor vehicles, for reasons of safety and economy. — Yours, etc.. D. R. BISMAN. July 11, 1980.
