Fire victim on mend

The young man who was rescued by firemen from' a burning house a month ago is now in a fairly comfortable condition in Christchurch Hospital. Lawrence Faragher, aged 21, had been transferred from the intensive-care unit to a ward, said a hospital

spokesman last evening. Mr Faragher had been found slumped in a shower cubicle of a burning house, behind the New City Hotel in Colombo Street, after he had tried to warn any occupants who might have been inside. It turned out that the house was empty.
