Good win to Maoris
The Canterbury Maoris rugby team had a well deserved 16-7 win over North Canterbury, at Kaiapoi yesterday. The Maoris led,. 10-3. at half-time and a feature of the match, played in slippery, greasy conditions, was the forward strength of the Maori players. T. Tichbourne, S. Hale and R. Koha scored tries for the
Maoris, Tichbourne’s being a fine team effort, covering the length of the feild, and M. Dolan kicked two conversions.
■ R. Loffhagen scored a second half try for North Canterbury after A. Devlin had-kicked a’penalty.
The curtain-raiser between the North Canterbury colts and the Maori colts was won bv North Canterbury, 18-11.
