Book on Erebus crash
Mr Ken Hickson, editor of an aviation safety magazine, will later this year produce a book on the Mount Erebus air crash. The book, “Flight 901 to Erebus,” will present all aspects of the DCIO crash including its background and aftermath, according to the publisher, Whitcoulls, Ltd. Mr Hickson has toured the McDonnell Douglas plant at Long Beach, California, and interviewed Mr William Gross, the corporation’s vicepresident responsible for the entire DCIO programme. He has also discussed the aircraft and it problems with the DCIO engineers.
