Lyttelton ferry

Sir, — That Christchurch Labour members of Parliament reiterate their costly pledge to reinstitute the Lyttelton ferry, based in part on the fact that good industrial relations (under Labour) existed in 1974 (“The Press,” June 19), is , to suggest that one swallow does a summer make. Are we to believe that Labour has the F.O.L. under its control and despite the stated policy of key transport related unions, no disruption nor strikes would result? No South Islander ever held up at Picton or Wellington would “swallow” that. —

Yours, etc., WILLIAM RICHARDSON June 19, 1980.
