H.A.R.T. campaign
PA Wellington The Halt All Racist Tours movement would spend this week telling New Zealanders about the daily plight of black South Africans, said H.A.R.T.’s national organiser, Ms Pauline McKay, at the week-end. The recent South African invasion of Angola accompanied by the killing of Namibians and the continued resistance and oppression of
black students highlighted the fundamental principles of H.A.R.T.’s sustained campaign against sporting contacts with South Africa, she said- These and other events showed the hollowness of claims that South Africa was changing. Films, street stalls, and leaflets would be used to show public opposition to the proposed 1981 Springboks tour of New Zealand.
