Coach appointed
The Auckland swimming coach, Lincoln Hurring, has been appointed managercoach of the second-string New Zealand swimming team which will make a short tour of California next month. The team of eight, all of whom were within a second or two of . achieving qualifying times for the Moscow Olympics at a trial on May
18, will swim in three carnivals, all in i'e San Francisco area. The squad will depart on July 2 and return 20 days later. Its first carnival will be at Santa Clara on July 4, 5, and 6. The second is the Golden State Aquatic carnival, July 12 and 13, and the third, the Pacific Coaches’ carnival, at Concord on July 18, 19 and 20.
