NZPA-Reuter Manila; Benigno Aquino, the bestknown Filipino detainee and arch-rival of President Ferdinand Marcos, has left Manila for heart surgery in the United States after securing temporary freedom from the man who jailed him in 1972. In a fast-moving series of events, the former senator, aged 47, left tor Dallas, Texas, for heart by-pass surgery. He was told he would have only six months to a year to live if he did not undergo surgery. Mr Aquino,' whose battle
against President Marcos did not stop with his detention at the outset of martial law rule in September, 1972, assured the President it would cease while he was away.
