Coaching centre

A new centre offering after-school and evening courses is about to open. The Kaimahi Education Centre is run by a trust of eight people who will offer mathematics and physics coaching to students to University Entrance level. The courses cost $6 a week for two lessons but there is a condition attached: pupils have to attend 15 minutes of “moral instruction” before their

mathematics or physics lesson. The Kaimahi Christian Education Trust is run by Open Brethren who intend to establish a Christian primary school in north Christchurch. They are looking for property to buy at present and hope to have the school working in the next two years. Teachers will be drawn from several evangelical churches in Christchurch.
