Male abortion counsellor
Sir, — As I have, had twd recent operations at Christchurch Hospital in the most embarrassing body area for a man, I feel qualified to take issue with, these foolish women who object to a male social worker’s appointment as an abortion counsellor. Almost daily I have had to present my'all to at least two doctors, a ward sister, plus various trainee nurses, mostly teenagers, for dressing purposes. I can assure you women complainefs, that, as quite an unattractive grandfather, I was treated with such professional courtesy that gratitude overcame any embarrassment. I would sug* gest if the women objectors to the male appointee are so shy they could avoid '• the need to attend such a clinic. — Yours, etc.,
R. K. WILKINS. April 22, 1980.
