N.Z. films on display at Cannes
Wellington Reporter New Zealand will have two stands when it takes a big catalogue of films to the world’s biggest market for sales to television at Cannes. Most advance publicity has been given to the film of Roger Halls’ stage play, “ M i d d 1 e-Age Spread,” which enjoyed a successful season in the West End of London, starring Richard Briers and Paul Eddington.
The marketing director of the Film Commission (Mr Lindsay Shelton) will discuss a possible British sale of the film on his way to Cannes when he meets buyers in London who have expressed an interest in. the film. However,' United S tates sales of the film have been delayed pending a possible Broadway production of the original stage play. The West End production of the play is continuing its long and sue-, cessful run.
