1000 Lions meet
About 1000 Lions and their wives gathered in the Town Hall last evening for the opening of a week-end district convention hosted by the Christchurch South Club. Visitors from the United States, Canada, Hawaii and Australia were addressed at the opening by the current international president, Mr
Lloyd Morgan, from Lowdr Hutt. Mr Morgan is the first New’ Zealand international president. Flags from Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United Nations, and the United States were presented to the gathering. The New Zealand Army Band, complete with military Muppets, entertained the gathering.
