Classic cars

The golden, early days of New Zealand motorsport will be recalled on Sunday in the historic car race, in which cars from a Bentley and Vauxhall from the 1920 s to a McLaren M 4 single-seater will do battle. The Bentley, a 1926 model, will be driven by Geoff Owen and the Vauxhall 30/98 by Jack Newell. Fred McLean will drive the 1968 McLaren M 4, which is owned by George Begg. Warner Mauger will wheel out the mighty 1953 Stanton Special, the car that once held the national speed record, and Gavin Bain will campaign his beautiful ex-works 1953 Ferrari Mille Miglia.
