Games officials from Chch
Eight Christchurch men are among the officials who will accompany the New Zealand Olympic Games team to Moscow in July.' They include Mr Wayne Thorpe, a com-' pany director, who has been chosen for his fourth games in cj’cling. He was assistant coach and mechanic' in 1974,. sole coach in 1976,' road coach in 1978, and this. time will go as mechanic. His brother-in-law, Blair Stockwell, also represented New Zealand at four games — as a competitor. Another well-known name on the list is that-, of Mr Peter Mander, who will be
manager of the yachting-sec-tion. The names of five competitors were omitted, from the list sent by the Press Association on Tuesday evening. Three of these omissions were detected by our alert sports staff, ;but two of them slipped through the net. They were Martin Brill, a fencer from Auckland, and Tom Dodson, a yachtsman, also from Auckland. His brother, Richard, is also a member of the team.
