Craig Owen wins again
Craig Owen, a younger brother of Simon Owen, won the $l5OO Avondale Pro-am for the second successive year at the week-end. Owen, as he had the previous year, started with an eagle on the opening par-4 hole and he was four under after 12. But he dropped a couple of shots on the hard finishing holes and finished with 68. One stroke behind was the
former Waitikiri professional, Bill Logan, and third place was shared by Chris Franks and Peter Hamblett on 71. Geoff Smart, who won the Harewood Pro-am, was one of three players on 72.
