Golf raises $2100
A full field of 200 golfers raised $2lOO for the Queen Elizabeth II Army Memorial Museum fund in a sponsored tournament over 18 holes at Burnham at the week-end. There was a three-way tie for the main prize, a set of clubs, and it was won on a count-back by a member of the Burnham Club, Alec McOscar. His net 69 was matched by T. Whittaker and G.
McDonald. The prizes were presented by the Chief of General Staff, Major-General B. T. Poananga who would have been in the count-back himself had he not three-putted the eighteenth green. The leading gross scores in the senior, intermediate and junior grades were: Whittaker (74), G. Tomlins (85), and J. McKenzie (91).
