Canty squash team chosen
A strong Canterbury squash team has been selected to defend the Viv Hargreaves Shield in the annual representative match against Southern Districts at Timaru on April 20. ” The men’s team will be led by the New Zealand under-23 champion, Rod Hayes, with Kathy Hargreaves (formerly Graham) the top woman. Most of the top male players were available apart from John Oakley. Last year’s Canterbury No. 1, Philippa Idour, was also not available. The teams are: Senior Men: R. W. Hayes, B. Simpson, L. P. Skurr, B. D. Matthews, C. Hibbert, D. R. Preston, N. D, Rush, GJ.
