PA Hamilton Sydney beat Waikato, 2313, in a fast-moving rugby match at Hamilton yesterWaikato, which led 9-3 just before half-time, looked capable of winnig, but Sydney lifted its game in the second half and the backs made good use of their opportunities. Nobody showed to better advantage than left wing, lan Robertson, who raced away for three tries, one of
them after a devastating break by a very competent full-back, Tony McGeoch. Loose forward Geoff Hines was outstanding for Waikato. He scored one try himself, and played a big part in other strong attacks. In addition to Robertson’s three tries, Sydney’s No. 8, Bob McLean, kicked a conversion and two penalties. Hines and Arthur Stones scored tries ' for Waikato. Richard Adams converted one, and John Boe dropped a goal.
