Dutch promise to back N.Z.
PA ‘ Wellington New Zealand has been assured of support from the Netherlands for continued butter access to the Common Market.. The assurance was given by the Diitch Foreign Minister ‘-.(Dr Christoph van der Klaauw) ■ in a letter ■ to- the Minister . of Agriculture (Mr MacIntyre),? ' An agreement on New Zealand’s access for butter to the Common Market
will expire at the end of the year. • Future access and prices will be decided soon by .'the Market’s governing council. - At a news conference in Wellington, Dr-van der Klaauw said: “We realise we have to help you.” After ai. 9;-minute meeting/with Dr van der Klaauw at Parliament, the Minister of Foreign Affairs (Mr - Taiboys) said the Government welcomed the statement of support.
