Talks on technology
PA Wellington Trade unionists will meet at Wellington today and tomorrow to devise a strategy to protect the interests of their members affected by the introduction of new work processes.
The all-union conference on technology was organised after an inter-union working party reported to the Federation of Labour and State unions.
Both the principal speakers at the conference come from the University of Sydney. Professor Ted Wheelright, of the university’s economics department will today speak on “World: capitalism, technology, and the working class.” Mr Greg Crough, of the', university’s transnational research unit, will speak tomorrow about the growth and impact of technology in the finance industry.
