Abduction charge
A youth charged with attempting to abduct a 15-year-old girl appeared in the District Court yesterday. The youth, aged 19, who was granted interim suppression of name by Judge K. W. Frampton, also faced a charge of assaulting the girl and of driving while disqualified. The Judge remanded him on bail of $750 and one surety of $750, without plea,, to April 22. Counsel (Mr N. R. W. Davidson) said that the girl had been going out with the youth. ~FALSE CHEQUES Seven charges of passing false cheques totalling more than $620 were admitted by an unemployed painter.

Taupo, Wellington, Lower Hutt and Nelson between November, 1978. and January, 1980. Earnshaw was remanded in custody. He also faces a further charge of driving while disqualified. FORGERY CHARGES A cleaner, aged 26, was allowed bail of $5OO and one surety of $5OO and remanded to April 15 when she appeared on charges of forging cheques and acting on them. Helen Diane Adams is charged with forging a cheque for $B5O on March 18 and one for $2OOO on February 21. She is also charged with presenting the cheques as genuine documents. No pleas were entered.
