Tliey plan to press their case with the Under-secre-. tary of Agriculture (Mr Talbot) and hope he will pur' their argument to the Cabinet. • ; A spokesman for Feder-, ated Farmers, Mr D. Smith, said- farmers ■ felt.they were “missing out” on the 25 per cent concession that will be available to South Island industries from April 1. They had sent a deputation to the Minister of Regional Development (Mr Cooper) asking that tlie concession be extended. “The Minister was sympathetic in bur cause, but said" that if South - Island dairy farmers .'were eligible, our North Island counterparts would also want the concession,” Mr Smith said. “However, this is not the case, because at the Dominion council meeting, the North Island dairy farmers supported us in our ap-» proach to the Government.”
