THE SIXTH DAY.

Man's creation was a special act of\ God — the Lord had formed the animals out of the ground (2:19). By a word of command "And God said, let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, creeping thing, and beast — And it was so" (1:24). But before God created man there was a special Consultation of the trinity. And God said, "Let us — (a divine trinity is required by the use of plural personal pronouns — see also (3:22). ; ’ Make, man in our image, after our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and; over the fowl of the air; and over the cattle, and

over all The earth —" (1:26). "So God created. man'.' ; (In the third creative act of God the beasts and man were brought into being (vs. 24-28) their bodies were formed, but their life was created) "In His own image, in the image of God created he Him; male and female created He them." (1:27) "In our image" — Yes man was the direct creative act of God, no thought of a gradual evolution, suggested here and nothing in the facts of science to- ' prove evolution or man either, he is certainly not the work of molecules and monkeys. The creation of man covers three areas; body — soul — spirit. 1., Body : made in God's-

own likeness bodily — model — shape,, — - similitude — < resemblance (Genz 5:1-3). The! Greek. (Eikon) confirms ihe : >idea of bodily image and likness. (Matthew 22:20 Acts 19:35) God also is a spirit being, not the sun, moon, stars nor an image of wood, stone, or metal: And not beast or man — He is not the air, ; wind, universal mind, . love -or some impersonal •; ■ quality. ; He is a person: With a personal spirit body, a personal soul, and a personal spirit, like that of angels, and like that of man except His body »s 0 spirit substance instead of flesh. (Job 13:8 • Heb. 1:3). The-Bible tells us we 'are fearfully and > wonderfully made. (Ps. I : ~139:14) It consists , of •' various chemicals — Iron,

The body;, has 263 bones, 600 -muscles, 970 miles of blood vessels, 400 cups on the tongue for taste, 20,000 hairs in the oars to tune in all the sounds, 40lb jawbone pressure, 10 million nerves and branches, 3,500 sweat tubes to each sq. inch, 20 million mouths : that suck food as it goes through the intestines, 600 million air cells to the lungs that inhale 2,400 gallons of air daily, and a. telephone

system, that relates to the brain instantly, any-, known - sound, taste, sight, touch or smell, it js through: these five (sense®, s that ;/wa communicate with the world around us. 2. Man's. Soul — is the seat of the emotions, passions, desires,' appetites; 'and.raß feelings self - consciousness. 3. Man's Spirit — is the seat of the Intellect, will and conscience. It ,is capable of all divine, powers only in a lesser degree — it is the seat of God consciousness, the inner man consisting of soul and spirit, is eternal.
