S.A. rugby prediction

PA Auckland Rugby in South Africa should be fully integrated in three to five years — “everything is moving in the right direction” — according to the celebrated 1948 Springbok goal-kicker. “Okey” Geffin. Mr Geffin arrived in Auckland last evening en route to Petone where he will be one of three overseas speakers at a Rotary dinner marking the departure of Bob Scott, the former All Black full-back, from Petone.

“We have had the breakthrough this year of a coloured player Errol Tobias being picked for a first-class team, Boland.

“Tobias said he did not want to be selected for Boland as a gesture. It was not a showpiece selection, he is a very good player and he will go very close to the Springbok side.

“There are still a few people against the move, a few' hard cases, but our Prime Minister is doing a wonderful job,” said Mr Geffin.
