Famine project soon
PA Wellington If New Zealanders would giv'e more to World Vision's 40-hour famine project during World Hunger Week this year, they would prove their increasing concern about the problems of hunger and the plight of the world’s 15 million refugees, said the Prime Minister (Mr Muldoon) yesterday. The project, which raised
more than $500,000 last year, totalling almost $1.5 million over the last five years, will this year be held from 8 p.m. on Friday until noon on Sunday. World Vision hopes that at least 30,000 New Zealanders will voluntarily go without food during this time. The money raised from their sponsors will help support the refugee programme.
