Outward Bound courses
Scholarship applications for Outward Bound courses in 1980-81 are now invited. The Outward Bound Trust has established funds to help young people who cannot afford to attend a course, which cos-'.s $385. The executive director of the trust (Group Captain T. A. McL. Morgan) said that scholarships would not be awarded for academic or sports merit. A sincere desire to do the course and a willingness to make some personal sacrifice ‘.o pay for part of the course would be the criteria, he said. Those first in line to receive scholarships would he applicants aged from 13 to 18 who were healthy and had no prospect of getting financial assistance from employers or other sources. Application forms for ‘.he 150 scholarships available can be obtained from the Outward Bound Trust Office, P.O. Box 3158, Wellington.
