Dog ‘skin and bone’
A dog picked up yesterday by the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and described as “skin and bone” will probably result in its owner’s being prosecuted. The dog had been left unattended since last Thursday. The inspector for the society (Mr F. Grimes) said that this was a second com-
plaint. “It is just starvation and cruelty,” he said. Mr Grimes said that it had been a busy week-end, 12 dogs being picked up. Inquiries have been unsuccessful in tracing the owner of a German Shepherd-cross dog which starved to death, while tied to a fence near the Belfast Hotel. The animal had been left for almost two weeks.
