Edwards wins golf title
PA Palmerston North Neil Edwards, of Titirangi, has won the national veterans golf tournament which finished at Palmerston North yesterday. In perfect golfing conditions, Edwards beat Napier’s Frank Ware for the championship title. There was little in the final, with both players all square at the ninth.
It was cut and thrust from there on, Edwards finally coming out the winner. Results of group one championship: winner Edwards, runner-up Ware. Championship plate flight: J. McKenzie (Hastings) 1, B. Silk (Wanganui) 2, D. McDonald (Hastings) 3.
