Spotlight for Waimak mouth

The first Daiwa P. and N. $2400 Waimak mouth fishing contest will be an opportunity to spotlight the area, only 19km from the city, as a centre for fishing, water sports and yachting, and will raise- a considerable sum for community. < Visitors coming from the south shou'd take the third turnoff from the northern motorway, then down Beach Road and turn right at the end. From the north, motorists should turn left before the motorway then proceed down Beach Road.

At the river mouth, beside the' camping ground operated by the Kaiapoi Borough Council, there is a store where tackle will be available and a children’s playground. It is a pleasant walk along winding Featherstone Avenue back to Pines Beach, where there is a large play area, children’s equipment, and sheltered paddling pool. At the turnoff to Pines Beach is a short side road that leads to the Pegasus surf club pavilion and swimming beach.
