Lower grades
The former Canterbury soccer representative, Franko Madrussan had. a fine double in a third grade cricket match against Christchurch Boys’ High School on Saturday. Madrussan was 86 not out a week ago and on Saturday went on to 128-not out. In his side’s second innings he was again unbeaten this time with 53. .Madrussan’s was one of only two centuries scored in the Canterbury Cricket, Association’s lower grade competitions on Saturday. The other was scored by D. King for the Burnside-West third grade side in its match against High School Old Boys. Playing for Lancaster Park against St Albans in the second grade, the New Zealand hockey representative, Balvant Bhana, completed a fine batting double of 96, and 85. . , -The best bowling figures were returned by M. Cornyns (Lancaster Park) i in the nith grade. He took five East-Shirley wickets for four runs.■<
Philip Wild (Riccarton) took five Burnside-West sixth grade wickets for six -.-runs, and W. Donald (St Albans) took five Sydenham fourth grade wickets for seven-runs. Ron Todd (Old Collegians) had the excellent figures of 10 overs, eight maidens, 12 runs and six wickets in an eighth grade game against Marist; . ■ Scores were: “ Second grade Lancaster- Park 194 and 214/7 (B.
