Film for joggers

The film that joggers have been waiting for will open its run in 40 New Zealand cinemas this Friday. “On the Run” is a New Zealand-made documentary that has been winning awards at film festivals throughout the United States. It will screen with the outdoor adventure film, “Across the Great Divide,” starring Robert Logan.

“On the, Run” was filmed in the North and South Islands early in 1979 and features appearances . by many of New Zealand’s

running greats, including Arthur Lydiard, John Walker, Jack Foster, Heather Thomson, and Max Telford.

The film was directed by a former Academy Award nominee, American filmmaker and marathon runner, Sparky Greene, and has won awards at the San Francisco Film Festival and other American film festivals. It was produced by the New Zealand film distributors, Barrie (Everard and Peter Rachtman, with the sunnort of Air New Zealand.
