Softball trial match

PA Invercargill The Waikato batter, Bruce Mackintosh,' demonstrated his ability again yesterday in the New Zealand softball trial when smashing a home run off the ace pitcher, Kevin Herlihy, over the fence of the main enclosure at Surrey Park; Invercargill. Team-mates in the Rothmans Cup winning Waikato team at -the tournament, Mackintosh showed his real capabilities against Herlihy and scored the first run of the No. 2 team. Hutt Valley’s Paul Magan kept things tight and it was the bottom of the fourth innings before the No t 1 team was able to score.
