PA Wellington The Prime Minister (Mr Muldoon) announced the Government’s intention to introduce income-tax cuts from April 1 next year, when Parliament sat at 2.30 p.m. yesterday. The Deputy Minister of Finance (Mr Templeton) introduced the Income Tax Amendment Bill (No. 2), which will effect the proposed cuts. The Auckland Harbour Board (Westhaven) Vesting Empowering Bill was reported back from the Local Bills Committee and referred to the Lands and
Agriculture Select Committee. Ministers answered IS questions. Mr J. W. Ridley (Lab, Taupo) moved .he introduction of the Electricity Amendment Bill, a private member’s measure, but the introduction debate was interrupted by the dinner adjournment at 5.30 p.m. After the adjournment the House took urgency on the second reading of the National Development Bill. The house adjourned at 12.08 this morning with the second reading still not completed.
