PA Wellington The Federation of Labour’s National Council haa decided to black National Development Bill projects that it considers are against the interests of working people or the public. A resolution passed unanimously at yesterday’s quarterly meeting of the council in Wellington said “appropriate action”
weuld be taken to prevent the etart of such a project. Council sources said later that, if necessary this would mean blacking a job before it started. “It opens the way for gross exploitation of our resources, our people, and our environment by large multi-national corporations and is a direct attack on what little land the Maori people still own in this country,” the resolution said.
