N.Z. group wins U.S. contract

(PA Wellington A New Zealand consortium, Downer and Company, and the Fletcher construction company, have won a S2OM contract from the United States Navy for the reconstruction of the Palau Islands airport. The contract, which also includes roading and electrical work, was won in the face of strong competition from overseas companies representing Japan. Korea, and a joint PhilippinesUnited States venture, the consortium said yesterday. The Palau Islands, part of the Micronesian group, are in the trust territory of Pacific Island’s administered by the United States.
