Meeting on homosexuality
Homosexual activity was considered “deplorable” by the majority of people at a meeting at the Christchurch Anglican Diocese. Most of those present agreed that the scriptural norm was that heterosexual love was the ■ natural ex-
pression of sexual relation- - ships, and that overt homosexual activity was unacceptable as a Christian option. 1 The meeting resolved, however, that homosexually : oriented people were creaI'tures of God and so del served love and understanding.
