No money, no fight
NZPA Washington Ernesto Espana, of Venezuela, the World Boxing Association light-weight champion, has refused to defend his title against the No. 7-ranked Leonidas Asprilla, of Colombia, because his manager said the 'promoter failed to give him the promised money. Felix Zabala, the Venezuelan’s manager, told reportesr that the promoter, Jim Denson, was to deliver $60,000 to Espana’s hotel, but he did not do so. Espana's manager said he was told by Denson that the money was not available because of the lack of sufficient ticket sales. Asprilla had been promised $lO,OOO but his manager, Nelson Aqulles, said he had not received any money either, but got plane: ticket*. „
