NZPA London Gold sold for more than ;SUS4OO an ounce on London ; bullion markets on Monday. • In another hectic scramble, the metal closed at a record of $414.25, a gain of $16.25 an ounce on its pre-weekend level. 1 The new surge was sparked partly by the dollar’s problems on the foreign exchanges. At the afternoon j fixing session, gold went to ; $414.75 and at one stage 'later was being traded as high as $415.50 an ounce.
