Rural education
Sir, — T. N. D. Anderson (August 23) could tty farming if he thinks the life is so great. There are plenty of farms in Canterbury for
sale, and if he is judged competent to run a farm, the sale of an urban property would be sufficient finance for a deposit. Interest of around $20,000, rates of at least $2OOO does not bring water, sewerage, rubbish collection, mail, or public transport to the gate or for that matter asphalt. — Yours, etc., SHIRLEY BENNETT, Swannanoa. August 23, 1979.
