Colts’ finalists
Sydenham and Suburbs will meet in the final of the colts’ rugby tournament, organised by the club presidents’ and club captains’ committee, at Denton Oval on Wednesday evening. They were successful in their semi-fingl matches at Waltham Park yesterday, eliminating Christchurch and Marist. The latter clubs will play off for third and fourth places. Semi-final results: Suburbs 13 (P. Wilkinshaw try D. McConnell three penalties) beat Marist 9 (B. Hutchinson try; G McWhirter (penalty, conversion). Sydenham 29 (B. Oetgen two, C. O’Brien, M. Timms, B. Nicholl tries; Nicholl three conversions, penalty) beat Christchurch 3 (G. Kench penalty).
