Profit for Geraldine
A profit of $5554 is shown in the accounts to be presented to the annual meeting of the Geraldine Trotting Club on Thursday, August 30. The club showed a profit of $2442 for the previous 12 months. Betting rose both on and off-course at the club’s annual meeting at which 10 races were run. The report says that it was more satisfactory than running a division race.
Disappointment is expressed that the Timaru Agricultural and Pastoral Association would hold its show in opposition to this year’s race meeting. The balance-sheet shows that the club has $24,000 in investments.
